From Fragmented Tools to an AI-Powered Recruiter Workspace

Business impact

01.

In three weeks, I turned an ambiguous, globally fragmented recruitment tools with an AI proposition into a tangible product experience.

02.

Exposed the complexity behind it, and gave the client enough evidence to decide whether it was worth pursuing.

03.

Informed and influenced further direction and more strategic product development.

A complex landscape of platforms and tools, shaped by regional differences in recruitment processes across UK/Europe, German-speaking markets, and Australia & New Zealand.

After

Mapped out dependencies demonstrating the high complexity of bringing project to life

Pain point

Recruiters across global markets relied on a fragmented ecosystem of platforms and tools.

Client challenged me to explore a unified AI-powered Workspace that could bring eight AI agents into a single experience- within just three weeks.

Exploration, research, understanding context before designing

Decision

Prioritising 2 out of 8 AI agents

During quality assurance, a team member pointed out that the buttons appeared too small. Although they met accessibility standards, something did not feel quite right.

I took a step back to consider our target users—installers, a role predominantly filled by men in manual labor. With larger hands and thicker fingers, the small buttons were simply not practical.

After revisiting the design and adjusting the button size, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive. The buttons became more accessible and much more comfortable for users to interact with.

Impact

The ready to go live platform/product gave client evidence to make a critical strategic decision: not to proceed to full-scale launch. By making early in the project raised technical, organisational and cross-functional complexity the design process together with an engineering effort highlighted these risks and increased visibility with key stakeholders.

This resonated with the client which then allowed to re-evaluate the feasibility, implications, internal resources and structural changes in the backend needed to fully support the vast capability of the elevated platform.

Well informed, detailed proposition (ready to go live product with mapped out dependencies and risks) gave the span for client to make an informed decision before committing to further investment.

Additionally, this heavily influenced the next stage of the strategic piece and future platform.
